Evelyn is an experienced Somatic Movement therapist and Expressive Arts facilitator who works in private practice and within the local community and third sector organisations. She supports individuals to understand their relationships with their body and rediscover resiliency, health and emotional wellbeing and regulation.

Evelyn has been training in Somatic practices since 2009 after years of studying Authentic Movement and Improvisation under the teaching of Victor Ma and Mandy Yim while living in Hong Kong. Throughout these practices she became fascinated with what is happening on a physical, emotional and psychological level when we move; how we can express a range of human emotions that enables personal discovery and the capacity for deeper meaning in our lives.

Evelyn has worked within third sector organisations; refugees charities, Mental Health organisations and social prescribing projects with GP’s, and has supported a wide range of people. She has worked extensively with people affected by Nervous system dysregulation, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, stress, chronic illness and a loss of connection. Her passion is in supporting people find the moments of insight that bring meaning, health, vitality and creativity to a person’s life.

Evelyn’s work is influenced by her studies in Polyvagal Theory, the Tamalpa Life/Art process, Authentic Movement, Somatic Psychology, Body-Mind Centering, and extensive training with Daria Halprin, Victor Ma, Fran Lavendel, Miranda Tufnell and Cai Tomos. She has been practising and training in Authentic Movement since 2009 which greatly supports and underpins her work.

Evelyn is a Registered Professional Member of the International Somatic Movement and Therapy Association (ISMETA) and receive’s regular supervision, continually broadening her learning and skills through undertaking advanced courses.
